Which airport should I use for the Austrian Alps?
It depends on the resort. Innsbruck (INN) is closest to the Arlberg and central Tyrol - St Anton and Lech are about 1 to 1.5 hours away. Salzburg (SZG) suits Salzburgerland and the Ski Amadé resorts. But Munich Airport (MUC), just over the German border, has by far the most flights and is a common 2 to 3 hour run to St Anton, Sölden, Ischgl, Kitzbühel and Zell am See. For many resorts Munich is the practical arrival point despite being in Germany.
How much does a private transfer in Austria cost?
Prices are per vehicle, not per person, so a couple or a family pays the same base fare. Short city runs - Vienna Airport to the centre, or Salzburg Airport to town - start from around €55. Ski transfers are longer: Innsbruck Airport to St Anton starts from around €180, and the popular Munich Airport to Kitzbühel or Sölden runs start from around €260 to €300 for a sedan. Is the Austrian motorway vignette included in the transfer price?
Yes. Austria requires a vignette (motorway sticker or digital equivalent) to use its motorways and expressways, plus separate route tolls on some Alpine passes and tunnels such as the Arlberg. Verified carriers already hold a valid vignette and build any route tolls into the fixed price quoted at booking, so there is nothing for you to buy or display at the border.
What happens to my Austria transfer if my flight is delayed?
