Transfers run the length of the country - from Milan, the Lakes and the Dolomites in the north, down the Tuscan hills to Rome, and on to Naples, the Amalfi Coast and the islands. The busiest corridors are the northern-lakes runs out of Milan Malpensa, the city hops from Rome Fiumicino and Venice Marco Polo, and the coast and cruise-port runs around Naples and Civitavecchia. Cross-border arrivals from Munich Airport into Venice and Lake Garda are covered too. If you would rather read up before you book, our guide to Milan airport transfers from Malpensa and Linate walks through the options into the city.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about transfers in Italy

Do TransferBnB drivers in Italy speak English?
Yes. English-speaking drivers are available across all major Italian gateways - Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa, Venice Marco Polo, Naples, Florence, Bologna and the island airports. The driver meets you in the arrivals hall holding a name board, so there is no language barrier at pickup. If you need a driver fluent in another language, note it when booking and the carrier will do its best to match it.
How much does a private transfer in Italy cost?
Prices are per vehicle, not per person, so a couple or a family pays the same base fare. Short city transfers - Rome Fiumicino to central Rome, or Milan Malpensa to Milan city centre - start from around €55-€75. Longer runs such as Milan Malpensa to Lake Como, or Naples to the Amalfi Coast, start from around €120-€150. The price you see at booking is the price you pay, with motorway tolls and airport fees included.
Are motorway tolls included in the price in Italy?
Yes. Italy's autostrade are almost entirely tolled - the A1 spine from Milan through Florence to Rome and Naples, the A8 out of Malpensa, and the A91 into Rome from Fiumicino all carry tolls. Where your route uses a tolled autostrada, the charge is already built into the fixed price quoted at booking, so there are no barrier stops to pay for yourself and no surprise road charges added at the end of the trip.
Can I book a transfer between Italian cities, not just from the airport?
Yes. As well as airport pickups, you can book city-to-city and resort-to-resort transfers - for example Milan to Lake Como, Rome to Florence, or a hotel-to-port run for a Civitavecchia or Naples cruise departure. Enter your exact pickup and drop-off addresses and you will see fixed-price offers from verified carriers for that journey. Many Italian historic centres sit inside ZTL limited-traffic zones, and your carrier knows the permitted drop-off points.
What happens to my Italy transfer if my flight is delayed?
Your carrier tracks your flight using the flight number you provide at booking and adjusts the pickup time automatically. There is no charge for a delay and no need to call ahead. The driver waits in arrivals and reschedules around the actual landing time, including for early or diverted arrivals.
What is the cancellation policy for transfers in Italy?
Standard bookings can be cancelled free of charge more than 24 hours before your scheduled pickup. For peak date travel - the last Saturday of December, the first Saturday of January, and the first three Saturdays of February - the free cancellation window extends to 72 hours before pickup. Cancellations inside these windows carry a 100% fee. Full terms are shown before you confirm your booking.
