The 2027 Ryder Cup is at Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland, from Monday 13 to Sunday 19 September 2027, with the matches on Friday 17 to Sunday 19 September. General admission sold out on 31 July 2026. Shannon Airport is the nearest, about 43 km away. There's no parking at the venue, so every car journey ends at a Park and Ride site or a station.
This guide covers the week's dates, what is still on sale, which airport to book, how the official Park and Ride and shuttle trains work, and how a group gets from the airport to its hotel and back without a hire car it can't park. It was checked against the organiser's pages on 24 October 2026.

When is the 2027 Ryder Cup?
The week runs from Monday 13 to Sunday 19 September 2027.
The matches themselves are the last three days, Friday 17 to Sunday 19 September. Before that come two practice days and the opening ceremony, and each of them is a separate ticket. It's the centenary edition, a hundred years after the first match in 1927, and only the second Ryder Cup in Ireland: the first was at The K Club in County Kildare in 2006.
| Day | What happens | General admission from |
|---|---|---|
| Tuesday 14 September | Practice day; SuperValu Community Day for island of Ireland residents | €89 (under-16 €20) |
| Wednesday 15 September | Practice day | €89 (under-16 €20) |
| Thursday 16 September | Practice and the opening ceremony | €179 (under-16 €30) |
| Friday 17 to Sunday 19 September | The matches, Europe against the USA | €499 per day |
Read the table as a travel plan, not a price list. A week that ends on Sunday evening means a Monday 20 September flight home for most of the 250,000 visitors, so that morning every hotel in the Mid-West empties at once.
Luke Donald captains Europe for a third time, named on 4 March 2026. Jim Furyk leads the USA, named on 24 April 2026, his second turn after 2018.
Can you still get tickets for the 2027 Ryder Cup?
Not general admission. That sold out on 31 July 2026.
The ballot ran in two stages: an island of Ireland priority window that opened on 24 April 2026, then a global ballot from 3 June. Ryder Cup Europe said afterwards it "could have sold out our general admission tickets more than 12 times over", with fans from 80 countries and 34% of spectators from the island of Ireland.
Two official routes are still open: ticket-inclusive travel packages and a limited number of premium experiences, both through rydercup.com. Residents of the island of Ireland can also apply for the Tuesday Community Day tickets once the details are out. Adare Manor itself doesn't sell tickets.
If you hold a package, check whether it includes the airport legs before you book anything else. Those are the two journeys with the least slack in them.
Which airport should you fly into for Adare Manor?
Shannon, if the flights work for you.
The organiser names four airports: Dublin, Shannon, Kerry and Cork. Shannon is the only one inside an hour of Adare. In summer 2026 it had year-round Aer Lingus and United flights to Boston and New York, plus seasonal daily United flights to Chicago O'Hare and Delta flights to New York JFK, according to Shannon Airport Group. The September 2027 schedule isn't published yet, so check the seasonal routes before you rely on them.
| Airport | Road distance to Adare Manor | Drive, empty road | Organiser's estimate to Park and Ride |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shannon (SNN) | about 43 km | about 38 minutes | not given |
| Kerry (KIR) | about 79 km | about 1h12 | not given (Killarney 1h45 to 2h15) |
| Cork (ORK) | about 100 km | about 1h30 | 1h30 to 2h00 |
| Dublin (DUB) | about 226 km | about 2h34 | 2h30 to 3h00 |
Read the last column with the event in mind. The organiser's times stop at a Park and Ride car park, and the shuttle bus to the gate adds another 10 to 30 minutes.
Cork Airport and Kerry Airport suit a trip that adds a few days in the south west. Dublin makes sense in one case: the transatlantic fare is much better, or you're spending part of the trip in Dublin anyway. Otherwise it puts two and a half hours of motorway between you and the course at each end of the week.
How far is Shannon Airport from Adare Manor?
About 43 km by road, and about 38 minutes with no traffic.
Figures that circulate widely put it at 25 km and 25 minutes. The routed distance from the terminal to Adare Manor, by the N18 past Limerick and out on the N21, is about 43 km, computed with OpenStreetMap routing in October 2026. That's a drive without a single queue on it. During Ryder Cup week, with up to 30,000 people a day heading for the Park and Ride sites, it won't be.
The practical rule is simple: plan the Shannon leg at an hour, not half an hour.
Is there parking at Adare Manor for the Ryder Cup?
No. The organiser's transport page says plainly: "there is no parking on-site."
Drivers go to a Park and Ride site instead and take a shuttle bus to the venue. There are four sites, at Croagh (west, north and south), Patrickswell (a field and the racecourse) and a site called Mackey, with 24,500 spaces between them, according to the Limerick City and County Council tender reported by the Limerick Leader. The organiser's shuttle times are 10 to 20 minutes from the western sites and 20 to 30 minutes from the eastern ones.
The catch is that Park and Ride is charged and booked in advance, and the details go only to ticket holders. Under the National Transport Authority's tender, the buses run from 05:00 (05:30 on the final day) to 23:00. Wheelchair-accessible services run on four routes to their own terminal at the event site.
Rules for a private car or coach dropping passengers off near the gate haven't been published. Until they are, plan every road journey to end at a Park and Ride site or a station.
Is there a train to the Ryder Cup in Adare?
Yes, for this one week.
A temporary station is being built at Adare for the event: a platform and a concourse, started in May 2026 and costing €3 million. The organiser's plan has two rail options:
- Train and Walk. Dedicated shuttle trains run from Limerick Junction to the temporary Adare Manor station in about 45 minutes, then it's a short walk to the gates. Limerick Junction is 1h30 from Dublin Heuston, 55 minutes from Cork Kent and 1h30 from Killarney.
- Train and Ride. From Galway, the train to Limerick Colbert takes about two hours, then a shuttle bus runs 35 to 40 minutes to the event's bus terminal.
The tender planned for around 2,000 rail passengers each way each day, against up to 30,000 on the Park and Ride buses. Iarnród Éireann hadn't published the event timetable on 24 October 2026.
Rail works best if you're staying in Dublin or Cork and travelling light. It works less well from a country hotel with no station, which describes most of the beds within reach of Adare.
How do you get to Adare Manor from Dublin?
By train via Limerick Junction, or by road to a Park and Ride site.
The train is the faster of the two on a match day: 1h30 from Heuston to Limerick Junction, then the 45-minute shuttle train to Adare, plus the wait between them. By road, Dublin Airport to Adare Manor is about 226 km and about 2h34 on an empty road, and the organiser allows 2h30 to 3h00 to the Park and Ride area alone.
A daily return from Dublin is five hours or more on the road before anyone has watched a shot. If you're flying into Dublin for the week, the better plan is one transfer from the airport to a base near Limerick, Ennis or Killarney on arrival, and one back on the Monday.
Where should you stay if Adare and Limerick are full?
Within reach of a Park and Ride site or Limerick Junction, which widens the map a lot.
Adare village and Limerick city fill first. Ticket holders can book official accommodation, including the first official Ryder Cup campsite, through rydercup.com. Beyond that, three towns are the realistic bases:
- Ennis. About 55 km and 43 minutes from Adare Manor on an empty road, and closer to Shannon Airport than Adare is.
- Killarney. About 92 km and 1h20, with a rail link to Limerick Junction (1h30) for the shuttle trains.
- Galway. About 116 km and 1h27, with the organiser's Train and Ride service via Limerick Colbert.
Pick the base by how you'll reach the course each morning, not by the drive on the map. A Killarney hotel near the station is a better base than a cheaper one with no way to the train.
How should a group of golfers get from the airport?
In one vehicle, booked before you fly.
A group of six or eight with golf bags and a week's luggage doesn't fit two taxis, and in the days before the matches the Shannon taxi rank is where everyone without a booking ends up. A private transfer collects the whole group at arrivals with a van sized to it, takes the bags, and drops everyone at the hotel. The return on Monday 20 September matters more than the arrival, because that's the morning the whole Mid-West heads for the same terminal.
Tell the carrier three things when you request it:
- The number of golf bags, separately from suitcases. Golf bags are long and stiff, and a van that seats eight may not carry eight bags as well.
- Your flight numbers, so the driver follows the landing time rather than the schedule.
- Whether you need daily runs to a Park and Ride site or Limerick Junction, as well as the airport legs.
A hire car looks simpler until you remember it can't be parked at the course. You'd still drive it to a Park and Ride site each morning, after a night in the clubhouse bar, on the left. Our guide to shared shuttles and private transfers sets out where each one fits.
Book the Ryder Cup airport transfer early
Ryder Cup week has a fixed number of vans and a quarter of a million visitors.
On TransferBnB you post one request with your flights, the group size and the golf bags, and verified local carriers send offers for the trip. You compare them and choose; nobody is assigned to you. Put the return leg on Monday 20 September in the same request, because that's the one that runs out first. For timing, our guide to how far in advance to book an airport transfer covers peak weeks, and how to book a private airport transfer explains how a request works.

Frequently Asked Questions
When is the 2027 Ryder Cup?
The 2027 Ryder Cup runs from Monday 13 to Sunday 19 September 2027 at Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland. The matches between Europe and the USA are on Friday 17, Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 September. Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 September are practice days, and Thursday 16 September has the opening ceremony.
Are 2027 Ryder Cup tickets sold out?
General admission tickets for the 2027 Ryder Cup sold out on 31 July 2026 after a ballot that Ryder Cup Europe said was more than 12 times oversubscribed. Ticket-inclusive travel packages and a limited number of premium experiences are still sold through rydercup.com, and island of Ireland residents can apply for Tuesday Community Day tickets.
What is the closest airport to Adare Manor?
Shannon Airport is the closest to Adare Manor, about 43 km by road and about 38 minutes on an empty road. Kerry Airport is about 79 km, Cork about 100 km and Dublin about 226 km. During Ryder Cup week, allow about an hour from Shannon, because the roads around Adare carry Park and Ride traffic.
Can you drive and park at the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor?
No. There is no parking at Adare Manor for the 2027 Ryder Cup. Drivers use one of four Park and Ride sites around Adare, which are charged and booked in advance, and take a shuttle bus of 10 to 30 minutes to the gate. Rules for private cars or coaches dropping passengers off have not been published.
Is there a train to Adare for the Ryder Cup?
Yes. A temporary station is being built at Adare for the 2027 Ryder Cup, and dedicated shuttle trains will run there from Limerick Junction in about 45 minutes, with a short walk to the gates. Limerick Junction is 1h30 from Dublin Heuston and 55 minutes from Cork Kent. From Galway, a train to Limerick Colbert connects with a shuttle bus.
How long does it take to get from Dublin to the Ryder Cup?
By train, Dublin Heuston to Limerick Junction takes 1h30 and the shuttle train to Adare another 45 minutes, plus the connection. By road, Dublin Airport to Adare Manor is about 226 km and about 2h34 on an empty road, and the organiser allows 2h30 to 3h00 to the Park and Ride area. A single transfer to a base near Limerick avoids doing it daily.
Where can you stay for the Ryder Cup if Adare is full?
Ennis, Killarney and Galway are the realistic bases when Adare and Limerick are full. Ennis is about 55 km from Adare Manor, Killarney about 92 km with a train to Limerick Junction, and Galway about 116 km with the official Train and Ride service. Ticket holders can also book official accommodation, including a campsite, through rydercup.com.
How should a group get from Shannon Airport to its hotel for the Ryder Cup?
A group with golf bags is best served by one private transfer booked before flying, with a van sized to the people and the bags. Taxis at Shannon will have long queues on the arrival days, and a hire car cannot be parked at the course. Book the return on Monday 20 September at the same time, because that is when demand peaks.
