Customs is on the way out, not the way in
Andorra is not in the European Union, and the Spanish customs post at La Farga de Moles, at the frontier on the N-145, is where the allowances on what you bought in Andorra apply. Per person aged 17 or over that is 300 cigarettes, 1.5 litres of spirits, 5 litres of still wine and 16 litres of beer; other goods up to €900, with perfume capped at 75 g and lower limits for some foods. Within the allowances you have nothing to declare; above them, you declare.
Allowances are per person, and one item's value cannot be split between the people in the car.
About This Transfer
The car collects you at your hotel in Andorra, in the capital, a Grandvalira village or Pal Arinsal, and takes the N-145 down to the frontier. Andorra la Vella to Barcelona Airport is about 203 km and 2h 50min in free flow: the N-145 to La Seu d'Urgell, the N-260 east, then the C-16 through the Cadí tunnel and south to Barcelona. From Soldeu it is about 222 km and 3h 10min, from Arinsal about 213 km and 3h.
The frontier is the one stop you cannot skip. Spanish customs works the post at La Farga de Moles and applies its allowances to everything bought in Andorra. Nobody publishes how long the stop takes, so the carrier plans the pickup back from your flight rather than from a rule of thumb.
There is no train to catch instead. Andorra has no railway; the nearest station is in France. A direct coach does run from the Andorra la Vella bus station to Barcelona Airport, in 3 hours to 3 hours 45 minutes by its operator's own figures, from €35 a seat. That is a fare per person on a fixed departure: a family of four pays four fares, and from a hotel in Soldeu or Arinsal gets itself and the ski bags to the bus station first. A private car is one price for the whole vehicle, from the hotel door.

Caldea
Caldea, in Escaldes-Engordany, is a thermal spa finished in 1994, and at 80 m it is the tallest building in Andorra. It is a few minutes by car from the centre of the capital, which makes it a last afternoon before an evening departure rather than a stop on the way.

La Seu d'Urgell is the first Spanish town after the frontier and the seat of the Bishop of Urgell, one of Andorra's two co-princes. Beside its old centre is the whitewater course built for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, 300 m long, which has hosted the canoe slalom world championships in 1999, 2009 and 2019.

The C-16 goes under the Cadí-Moixeró range in a 5,026 m tunnel opened in 1984. Above it is the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, 41,060 hectares protected since 1983 across Alt Urgell, Berguedà and Cerdanya, with the Vulturó at 2,648 m as its highest point.

The Benedictine abbey on the mountain of Montserrat was founded in 1025, and a Benedictine community still lives there. It is 17.9 km and about 25 minutes off the C-16 from Sant Vicenç de Castellet. With a late flight and no ski bags to guard, it is the one stop on this road worth building into the day; agree it with the carrier when you book.

Pickup: Your hotel in Andorra
The car collects you at the hotel door, in Andorra la Vella or Escaldes-Engordany, in a Grandvalira village up the CG-2 (Encamp, Canillo, El Tarter, Soldeu, Pas de la Casa) or in La Massana for Pal Arinsal. Soldeu is about 20 km and 25 minutes above the capital, so a Soldeu pickup is earlier than a capital one for the same flight. Give the carrier the hotel's name and town.

Barcelona has two terminals, T1 and T2, in separate buildings linked by a free shuttle bus 24 hours a day. Check which terminal your airline uses and put it in the booking, so the car stops at the right terminal. The terminal changes the drive by a few minutes, but a drop at the wrong one costs a shuttle ride with your luggage.

Nobody publishes a wait time for it. The carrier sets the pickup from your flight time and your hotel's place up the valley, and a Soldeu pickup comes before a capital one.
