Innsbruck to the airport is about 4 to 6 km depending on where you start, and about 10 minutes in free flow. There is no motorway, no vignette and no border, and the car stops at the departures kerb of the airport's one terminal.
The bus is a fair option, and for many travellers the better one. Line F runs from the Hauptbahnhof and Anichstraße/Rathausgalerien, about 100 m from Maria-Theresien-Straße, to the terminal in 12 to 17 minutes for €3.30. On weekdays it runs every 15 minutes in the day. A metered taxi from the centre costs about €15 to €19.50 by day.
The catch is the first and last mile. The bus leaves from a stop, not your hotel, and it is a city bus, where skis ride only if there is room. It runs every 20 minutes on Saturdays and every 30 on Sundays, and before 05:30 there is exactly one. A booked car earns its fare with an early flight, ski bags, five or more people, or a hotel inside the pedestrian zone.

Innsbruck's main street is a pedestrian zone with the Annasäule column at its middle, about 100 m from the Anichstraße/Rathausgalerien stop where line F picks up for the airport. A hotel on the street itself is the classic case for agreeing the pickup point with your carrier in advance.
