About This Transfer
The car is at your door in Laax at the hour you chose, the skis go in once, and the next stop is the departures kerb at Zurich Airport. It drops about 14 km through Flims to exit 18 at Reichenau, joins the A13 past Chur, turns onto the A3 at Sargans, runs along the Walensee and takes the Zurich bypass to the airport.
Flims Laax Falera Tourism puts the drive at 1 hour 45 minutes between the resort and Zurich the city, and a routing query from the Laax lift base to the airport gives 1h 53min over about 152 km. Plan on 1h 50min in normal traffic and add time if it has snowed on the road down to Reichenau.
No border, no customs and no toll booths. The Swiss motorway vignette, CHF 40 a year, covers the A13 and A3, and on a private transfer the carrier normally pays it.
The train is the slow way down with skis. There is no station in Laax: the PostBus goes to Chur, a train to Zürich HB and a second one to the airport, 2h 24min to 2h 28min on the December 2026 timetable. Chur old town
Chur calls itself Switzerland's oldest city, and it is the first city on the way out, about 30 minutes below Laax. With an evening flight and a morning to spare after checkout, an hour in the old town is the easiest stop on the whole route. Agree it with your carrier when you book, because waiting time is priced, not assumed.

Across the water from the motorway, on a promontory under the Churfirsten, sits Quinten, a village with no road. It is reached on foot from Weesen or Walenstadt or by boat, and the boat from Murg runs all year. On the way to a flight it is a view from the window, and a reason to come back in summer.

The part that changes in winter is the first 20 minutes, the road down through Flims to exit 18 at Reichenau, where fresh snow can slow the car and chains can become compulsory where signed. After that it is the A13, the A3 along the Walensee and the Zurich bypass to the airport.
Road & Border Notes
No border at all: the route never leaves Switzerland. The Swiss motorway vignette is CHF 40 and applies on the A13 and A3; the 2027 vignette is valid from 1 December 2026 to 31 January 2028. Driving without one costs a CHF 200 fine plus the vignette. No other toll applies. Switzerland has no legal winter tyre obligation, but a badly equipped driver can be held liable after an accident.
