A shared ski shuttle seat is advertised from €19.50 from Geneva Airport to Chamonix, €44.50 to the Tarentaise resorts and €23 to €27 from Innsbruck Airport, one way. Fares with a date and a timetable are higher: €59.50 on the Geneva weekend coach, €65 from Zurich Airport to St Anton and €64 to €86.80 from Innsbruck. Against those, a private transfer is cheaper per head from two or three people in Austria and six or seven in the Tarentaise.
This guide prices the shared seat on 20 airport-to-resort routes in the Alps, from Geneva, Zurich, Innsbruck, Munich and Salzburg, using the fares the shuttle and coach companies publish themselves, read on 2 October 2026, with the private starting price from our own route pages beside each. For private prices on every other route, see our European transfer price guide. For how ski transfers work from every gateway, start with our complete guide to ski transfers in Europe.

How much does a shared ski transfer cost per person in 2026/27?
Between €16.40 and €109.30 a seat, and most routes have two prices.
The first is the advertised floor: a "from" price per person, usually with no date, day or season beside it. The second is the dated fare: a coach or shuttle tariff with a timetable. From Geneva the two sit within €15 of each other. From Innsbruck the dated fare is two and a half to three and a half times the floor.
The private column is the starting price on the TransferBnB route page, per vehicle and one way: a saloon for up to three people, an estate for four, a minivan for five to eight. The last column is the smallest group, up to eight, for which the vehicle's starting price per head is no higher than the seat.
From Geneva Airport: Chamonix, the Tarentaise and Verbier
Geneva is the one airport where the shared seat is a mass-market product.
| Route | Advertised from | Dated fare | Private, from: saloon / estate / minivan | Private matches or beats: the floor / the dated fare |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chamonix | €9.90 plus bag fees; €19.50 with a bag and skis | None; tourist office average €30 to €40 | €150 / €170 / €210 | Never, up to 8 people / 6 or 7 against the average |
| Courchevel | €44.50 | Ski coach from €47, last winter's fare | €225 / €265 / €330 | 8 / 8 |
| Méribel | €44.50 | Weekend coach €59.50 | €225 / €265 / €330 | 8 / 6 |
| Val d'Isère | €47.50 | Weekend coach €59.50 | €260 / €305 / €380 | 8, level / 7 |
| Tignes | €47.50 | Weekend coach €59.50 | €250 / €295 / €370 | 8 / 7 |
| Les Arcs | €47.50 | Saturday coach €59.50 | €235 / €275 / €345 | 8 / 6 |
| Verbier | €70 | About CHF 75 (about €79), to a central stop | €210 / €245 / €310 | 3, level / 3 |
Read down the last column and Geneva splits in two. On the French side the seat wins until the vehicle is nearly full. On the Swiss side it stops winning at three.
The Tarentaise arithmetic is plain. A minivan to Courchevel from €330 is €41.25 each for eight people, under the €44.50 seat and level with the ski coach, which gives a group of five or more its fifth ticket free. For six it is €55 each, above the €44.50 seat and below the €59.50 weekend coach to Méribel next door. Small groups pay more to go private here.
On the Chamonix road the shared seat is the cheaper buy for any group up to eight, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Three people in a saloon pay from €50 each and eight in a minivan from €26.25 each, against €19.50 a seat with a bag and skis included. Only against the €30 to €40 average that the Chamonix tourist office quotes does a minivan of six or seven draw level.
The catch is the word "from". The lowest fare advertised on this road is €9.90, and it charges €2.50 for a first suitcase and €4 for a ski bag, so a skier with one of each pays €16.40. Those fares run to fixed stops in the valley, not to a chalet door.

Verbier runs the other way. The shared bus costs about CHF 75 a person, about €79, and stops at a central car park, from where a local taxi to your door is CHF 40 for the group. Three people pay about €238 in seats, or about €281 with the taxi, against a saloon from €210 that goes to the door. Our Geneva Airport transfer guide covers the airport itself.
From Zurich Airport: the Arlberg and Laax
Zurich has one scheduled ski coach to the Arlberg and very little else.
| Route | Advertised from | Dated fare | Private, from: saloon / estate / minivan | Private matches or beats: the floor / the dated fare |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| St Anton am Arlberg | €50 | Coach €65, child €35 | €180 / €200 / €230 | 4, level / 3 |
| Laax | None found | CHF 79 (about €84), weekends, last winter's fare | €330 / €385 / €485 | No floor / 6 |
Count adults on the St Anton row. Three pay €195 on the coach against a saloon from €180 to the door, and four pay €260 against an estate from €200. The minivan on this route seats up to seven, and the same €65 coach fare serves Lech and Zürs.
Laax is the opposite case. Swiss private prices run well above Austrian ones, so the weekend shuttle at about €84 stays cheaper until six people share a minivan from €80.83 each.
No coach or shuttle publishes a dated seat fare from Zurich Airport to Davos, St Moritz or Zermatt, or from Geneva Airport to Zermatt; the only per-person figures are undated floors of €73 to €94. All three resorts have a railway station, so the choice is the train or a private vehicle, with a saloon from €370, €520 and €680 from Zurich and €385 from Geneva.
From Innsbruck, Munich and Salzburg: Tyrol and Salzburgerland
In Austria the floor and the dated fare are furthest apart.
| Route | Advertised from | Dated fare | Private, from: saloon / estate / minivan | Private matches or beats: the floor / the dated fare |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Innsbruck Airport to St Anton | €27 | €79.20 | €190 / €210 / €260 | Never, up to 8 / 3 |
| Innsbruck Airport to Ischgl | €27 | €86.80 | €200 / €220 / €270 | Never, up to 8 / 3 |
| Innsbruck Airport to Sölden | €24 | €81.50 | €180 / €200 / €250 | Never, up to 8 / 3 |
| Innsbruck Airport to Mayrhofen | €23 | €64 | €125 / €145 / €185 | Never, up to 8 / 2 |
| Innsbruck Airport to Kitzbühel | €26 | €64 | €190 / €210 / €270 | Never, up to 8 / 3 |
| Munich Airport to Kitzbühel | €42 | Weekend coach €89.90; airport shuttle quoted at €59 to €79 | €190 / €210 / €270 | 7 / 3, or 4 against €59 |
| Munich Airport to Mayrhofen | €68 | Weekend coach €109.30; airport shuttle quoted at €79 | €195 / €220 / €270 | 3 / 2, or 3 against €79 |
| Salzburg Airport to Zell am See | €36 | €77 | €150 / €170 / €210 | 6 / 2 |
| Salzburg Airport to Kaprun | €40 | €65 | €160 / €180 / €225 | 6 / 3 |
| Salzburg Airport to Saalbach | €40 | €70 | €160 / €180 / €225 | 6 / 3 |
| Salzburg Airport to Bad Gastein | €59 | €68.30 | €160 / €180 / €225 | 3 / 3 |
The two halves of the last column tell opposite stories. Against the dated coach fare, three people are enough on most rows and two on some. Against the advertised floor, a private vehicle never gets there from Innsbruck, even full.
Take Innsbruck Airport to Ischgl. The coach fare for winter 2026/27 is €86.80 a person to your accommodation, daily from 5 December 2026. Three people in a saloon from €200 pay €66.67 each. The same road is also advertised "from €27 per person", with no date and no day beside it, and eight people in a minivan from €270 still pay €33.75 each.
Which number is yours depends on whether the €27 seat exists on the day you land. Ask for the fare on your date before comparing anything.
Munich is the long way round, and its coach runs at weekends only. It charges €134.50 a person to Zell am See and €180.20 to Ischgl, so two people pay €269 and €360.40 against saloons from €225 and €235. Our Innsbruck Airport transfer guide has the resort-by-resort detail for Tyrol.
At what group size is a private transfer cheaper than a shared shuttle?
It depends on the road, and on which shared price you can get.
A common answer is four people. On the fares published in October 2026 that holds on almost none of the 20 routes, and the real answer sorts by region:
- Two or three people, against dated fares: Austria, the Arlberg and Verbier. The dated seats cost €64 to €86.80 from Innsbruck and Salzburg, and a saloon starts at €125 to €210, so the third passenger tips it almost everywhere.
- Six to eight people: the Tarentaise. Seats start at €44.50 to €47.50 and the weekend coach is €59.50, against minivans from €330 to €380. A full vehicle matches or beats the seat; a half-full one does not.
- Six to eight people, or never, against advertised floors. Wherever a floor of €23 to €50 is on offer for your date, the seat is the cheaper buy for a small group.
Here is the private starting price per person on three of those roads, with the shared seat in the heading:
| People | Geneva to Courchevel (shared from €44.50) | Innsbruck to Ischgl (floor €27, coach €86.80) | Zurich to St Anton (coach €65) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | €225 | €200 | €180 |
| 2 | €112.50 | €100 | €90 |
| 3 | €75 | €66.67 | €60 |
| 4 | €66.25 | €55 | €50 |
| 6 | €55 | €45 | €38.33 |
| 8 | €41.25 | €33.75 | €42.50, in a minibus from €340 |
Follow each column down until the figure drops below the shared seat. That row is your break-even.
One adjustment for skiers who bring their own kit. Four people with four ski bags and four suitcases should price the minivan, not the estate, which makes the Courchevel figure €82.50 each. Our family cost comparison runs that case in full, against the hire car and the train as well.
Every private figure here is a starting price. TransferBnB is a marketplace, so the price you pay is a carrier's offer for your date and group, fixed before you pay.
What does a shared fare include: skis, suitcases and the door?
Less than a private price does, and it varies by company. These are the rules behind the fares in the tables:
- One hold item, not two. The weekend coach from Geneva includes one hold item and a small hand bag, and a pair of skis is the hold item. Extra items cost £3 to £4 each per journey, about €3.50 to €4.70. The cheapest fare on the Tarentaise ski coach likewise covers a suitcase or a pair of skis, not both.
- Bag fees on the lowest fares. The €9.90 Chamonix fare charges €2.50 for the first suitcase, €4 for the first ski bag and €25 for a bag you did not declare. The Munich airport shuttle books skis as a paid extra.
- Skis included, extras at €20. The shared minibus lines from Geneva include one checked bag, one set of skis and hand luggage. Any further item is €20.
- A stop, not a door. The Val d'Isère coach sets down at the bus station at La Daille, the Verbier bus at a central car park, and Courchevel is reached with a change at Moûtiers. The Austrian coach is the exception: it runs to your accommodation and carries skis at no charge.
A private transfer carries skis, snowboards and boots free. The driver loads them once at arrivals and unloads them at your door.
How long do you wait, and how many stops does a shared shuttle make?
Up to two hours on most services, then up to three stops.
A shared vehicle usually waits for passengers from other flights. One shared minibus service from Geneva states a maximum wait of an hour and a half and up to three stops on the road. The Verbier bus allows up to two hours to group its passengers. The Austrian coach says the wait can reach two hours and that last winter's average was 40 minutes.
From Munich Airport the wait is part of the price. On the airport shuttle, quoted for a Saturday in January 2027, the €79 seat to Kitzbühel waits up to 60 minutes and the €59 seat up to 150 minutes.
Then there is Saturday. The Geneva weekend coach gives about 3h10 to Val d'Isère on an average Saturday, and one shuttle company warns of four and a half hours or more on the same road. A private vehicle shares that traffic; our route page gives about 3h to 3h30. What it skips is the wait and the other drop-offs.
A private driver is at arrivals when you are, and the only stop is yours.
Do shared ski shuttles run every day?
Not all of them, and the cheapest often do not. Check the days before the fare:
- Geneva weekend coach. Saturdays and Sundays only: to Val d'Isère and Tignes on Saturdays from 5 December 2026 to 24 April 2027 and Sundays from 13 December 2026 to 4 April 2027, to Les Arcs on Saturdays only. Sunday travel adds €3.50.
- Tarentaise ski coach. Daily to most resorts last winter. Its 2026/27 timetable was still unpublished on 2 October 2026, and the €47 fare is the one on its page today.
- Zurich Airport to the Arlberg. 30 November 2026 to 11 April 2027, five coaches on a Saturday and one on most weekdays, with a seat booked at least 24 hours ahead.
- Zurich Airport to Laax. Weekends last winter, one departure a day; 2026/27 dates not yet posted.
- Austria. Daily from Innsbruck Airport from 5 December 2026 and from Salzburg Airport from 12 December 2026. From Munich Airport the coach runs on Saturdays and Sundays only.
A private transfer runs when your flight does.
Do children pay less on a shared shuttle?
Sometimes, and on some services the youngest cannot travel at all.
The Tarentaise ski coach takes 30% off for ages 3 to 12, €32.90 instead of €47. The Geneva weekend coach takes 10% off for ages 4 to 11 and does not carry children under 4. The shared minibus lines from Geneva to the Tarentaise charge the full fare from 4 and also refuse under-4s. The Zurich coach to St Anton charges €35 for children born in 2015 or later.
The age limit decides more family trips than the price does: a family with a three-year-old cannot book the weekend coach or those minibus lines at any fare. A private transfer is priced per vehicle, so children add nothing, and child seats are available on request.
When is the shared shuttle the right choice?
When you are one or two people travelling light. Three cases, and what the numbers say about each:
- Travelling alone? One person to Val d'Isère pays €47.50 to €59.50 for a seat against a saloon from €260. Take the seat.
- A couple going to Chamonix? Two seats cost €39 against a saloon from €150. Check the bag rules, then take the seats.
- Three or more in Austria, or a full minivan anywhere? Get the dated shared fare for your day, then price the vehicle. On most of these routes it is cheaper per head and it goes to the door.
The seat is a good product for the traveller it was built for. It stops being one when a second ski bag, a toddler or a Tuesday flight enters the plan.
Get a price for your own group
Post the trip with the number of people, the ski bags and any child seats, and verified carriers who drive that road send offers. You choose one, the price is fixed before you pay, and the driver tracks your flight and meets you in arrivals.
Start from the route page for your resort: Geneva Airport to Val d'Isère, Innsbruck Airport to St Anton, Munich Airport to Kitzbühel or Salzburg Airport to Zell am See. For any other resort, our ski resort transfers page takes the request. Whether you are three friends with boards or eight with a week of luggage, the vehicle is sized to the group before you pay.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a shared ski transfer cost per person in 2026/27?
Advertised seats start at €19.50 from Geneva Airport to Chamonix with a bag and skis, €44.50 to the Tarentaise resorts and €23 to €27 from Innsbruck Airport, one way. Dated coach fares are higher: €59.50 on the Geneva weekend coach, €65 from Zurich Airport to St Anton and €64 to €86.80 from Innsbruck. A private transfer on the same routes starts at €125 to €330 per vehicle for up to three people.
At what group size is a private ski transfer cheaper than a shared shuttle?
It depends on the route and on the shared fare you can get. Against dated coach fares, a private vehicle is cheaper per head from two or three people from Innsbruck and Salzburg, from Zurich Airport to St Anton and from Geneva Airport to Verbier, and from six to eight people to the Tarentaise. Against the lowest advertised seats it takes a nearly full minivan, and to Chamonix the seat stays cheaper for any group up to eight.
How much is a shared shuttle from Geneva Airport to Val d'Isère or Courchevel?
Shared seats from Geneva Airport are advertised from €47.50 to Val d'Isère and €44.50 to Courchevel, one way, and the weekend coach to Val d'Isère is €59.50. A private minivan starts at €380 to Val d'Isère and €330 to Courchevel, which is €47.50 and €41.25 each for eight people, with skis carried free and no wait for other passengers.
How much is a shared shuttle from Innsbruck Airport to St Anton or Ischgl?
The shared coach from Innsbruck Airport costs €79.20 a person to St Anton and €86.80 to Ischgl, one way, in winter 2026/27. Seats on both roads are also advertised from €27, with no date attached. A private saloon starts at €190 to St Anton and €200 to Ischgl, so three people pay from €63.33 and €66.67 each, less than the coach, and leave when they land.
Is the shared bus from Zurich Airport to St Anton cheaper than a private transfer for four people?
No. The scheduled coach costs €65 per adult, so four adults pay €260, against a private estate from €200 or a minivan from €230. The coach is cheaper for one or two people. From three, a private saloon from €180 costs less per head, takes about two hours instead of about 2h40 and stops at your door.
Do shared ski transfers charge extra for ski bags?
Some do. The Geneva weekend coach includes one hold item, so skis and a suitcase together mean an extra item at £3 to £4. One Chamonix operator charges €4 for a ski bag and €2.50 for a suitcase on top of its lowest fare. Other shared lines include one bag and one set of skis. A private transfer carries skis and boards free.
Do shared ski shuttles run every day?
Not all of them. The Geneva weekend coach to the Tarentaise and the Munich Airport coach to Austrian resorts run on Saturdays and Sundays only, and the Zurich Airport shuttle to Laax runs at weekends. The Innsbruck and Salzburg coaches run daily in winter. A private transfer is booked to your flight, on any day.
